Knitting, Sewing and Other Fun Things

Yes the evil "B" word! The Brain and I have created a budget complete with "petty cash" and everything. I was mostly tired of feeling guilt if I bought yarn (mostly because I bought ALOT and my husband doesn't really spend money on himself) and not buying things and regretting it. So I organized a budget and I feel so much better now! I bought some yarn that I've been wanting but not getting because of guilt, as well as yarn to make stuff for family christmas presents. There will be a lot of gift knitting in the future!

I really need to get the Brain to check out the code for the site because I cannot update my sidebar and the stuff under "On the needles" is all moo. Now I have a Montego Bay Scarf (ravelry link)in Dream in Color Ruby River Color way. The His Llama Cardigan (ravelry link)from Knitting Classic style in Knitpicks Wool of the Andes in Williamsburg. Blue Sky Alpaca One Fish Two Fish In some green and white stash yarn. As well as my Rivendell's in Collinette Jitterbug in Velvet Leaf. All of this is listed on myRavelry pageas well as more details on each project.
I really like the Rivendell pattern but I had to "research" a little bit to avoid some confusion. Like you need to make sure to not wrap the stitches to tightly or you'll never get them on! Also I found the chart a little confusing. Montego bay is my travel knitting, the yarn is sooo beautiful I have to keep convincing myself to not buy every skein my LYS has in stock! The fish is for Peanut and kind a run through, there are a lot of babies that are coming into my family and I thought this pattern and the baby bobbi bear will be perfect presents. The cardigan has been something I wanted to make for my Dad since I first saw it in the book but never bothered because a wool sweater is the last thing you need in South Florida. However, my parents are building a cabin in South Carolina and we are hoping to spend Christmas up there so I thought this would be great for when he goes to the mountains. More projects on the way!
